LATROBE, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson suffered its second Presidents' Athletic Conference women's basketball loss of 2017-18 with a 69-58 defeat at Saint Vincent.

The loss drops the Presidents to 15-3 this year and 9-2 in the PAC, while the Bearcats are now 11-7 overall and 8-3 in the league.

W&J started slowly, with seven first-quarter turnovers and allowing the Bearcats to shoot 8-of-15 (53.5 percent) from the field and 4-of-6 (66.7 percent) from three-point range. All of that equaled SVC holding a 28-16 lead through 10 minutes. The second quarter was equal at 11 points apiece and W&J entered halftime trailing by 12 points, 39-27.

After holding SVC to just three field goals and 0-for-8 from beyond-the-arc in the third quarter, W&J chipped the lead down to seven, 49-42, after 30 minutes. An 8-0 run that closed the third and a triple by
Lauren Gilbert (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) 10 seconds into the fourth quarter got the Presidents as close as they would come at 49-45.

It was a six-point game (64-58) with under a minute to play after a pair of free throws by
Amirah Moore (Moon Township, Pa./Moon), but the final five points were score by the Bearcats at the free-throw line to secure the upset.

Moore led the Presidents with 19 points, nine of which came at the foul line.
Danielle Parker (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) posted her 12th career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Gilbert joined the duo in double figures by adding 14 points, plus five boards and tying for the team high with three assists.

W&J will travel to Grove City on Saturday, Jan. 27 for a 1 p.m. tip-off in PAC action.
