MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team suffered a 3-0 nonconference setback to Allegheny in road action on Tuesday, Oct. 2, in Meadville, Pa.
It took the Gators just 1:27 to open the contest's scoring, one of the team's two first-half goals. A 56th-minute tally in the second half sealed the nonleague victory for Allegheny.
Despite not getting on the scoreboard, the Presidents had scoring chances in the contest. W&J tied the Gators with 15 shots in the bout.
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) led all players with five shots in the tilt, while
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) was not far behind with three shots.
Matt Kotkiewicz (Bethel Park, Pa./Bethel Park) rounded out W&J's players with multiple shots, as he tallied two.
In goal,
Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) played all 90 minutes for the Red & Black and made four saves.
The Presidents return to PAC action on Friday, Oct. 5, with a road 2 p.m. showdown against Grove City.
