NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team had its two-match win streak snapped by the PAC-leading Titans of Westminster in a road 4-2 defeat on Saturday, Oct. 20.
The loss puts the Presidents' record at 5-8-1 overall and to 3-2-0 in the PAC. The victory gives Westminster an 11-3-0 record through 14 matches and a 5-1-0 mark in the league.
Following two goals by the Titans to begin the contest, W&J got on the scoreboard in the 56th minute behind a goal from
Joseph Feola (Carnegie, Pa./Central Catholic). Feola netted his team-high tying third goal of the year by using one touch in the box to gather the ball and beat the goalie.
Westminster again scored two unanswered goals before
Jonathan Youse (New Cumberland, Pa./Cedar Cliff) cut W&J's deficit to 4-2 with his first collegiate tally in the 88th minute. Feola assisted Youse on the play, his first career helper.
The Presidents finished the match with 13 shots, eight on goal.
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) paced the team with four shots, while
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio / Watterson) registered three.
Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) started for the Red & Black and made five saves in 90 minutes.
