WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback to Bethany in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at Alexandre Stadium.Â
The loss drops the Presidents to 5-9-1 overall and 3-3-0 in the PAC this season, while the Bison improve to 6-8-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference. W&J is now fifth in the league standings with nine PAC points.Â
It took the Bison just 6:51 to get on the scoreboard, as they converted on a 15-yard free kick early in the first half. Another tally in the 61st minute sealed a 2-0 victory for the road team.Â
Despite taking the loss, W&J outshot Bethany by a 13-7 margin.
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) led all players with four shots, while
Jake Fetterman (Pottstown, Pa./The Hill School),
Michael Komaniak (Oakmont, Pa./Riverview), and
Joseph Feola (Carnegie, Pa./Central Catholic) each posted two.Â
Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) started in goal for the Red & Black and made one save in 90 minutes.Â
The Presidents wrap up the 2018 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 27, with a road 3:30 p.m. match against Waynesburg.Â
