GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Grove City tallied two second-half goals to sink Washington & Jefferson women's soccer, 2-0, in Presidents' Athletic Conference action on Friday, Oct. 5.Â
After battling the Wolverines to a 0-0 draw after the first 74 minutes, the Presidents' defense finally let up in the 75th minute. With the loss, W&J falls to 4-6-2 overall and 1-1-0 in the PAC, while Grove City improves to 9-3-0 and 2-0-0.Â
The duo of
Erin Herock (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) and
Brianna Floryshak (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area) led the Red & Black attack with two shots apiece, while
Courtney Finney (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan),
Lexey Finney (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan), and
Marcy Saldivar (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) each finished second on the team with one shot.Â
Shayla Watkins (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Presidents. The rookie made seven saves, four in the first half and three in the second.Â
