WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson men's basketball team earned its first season sweep of Waynesburg since the 2012-13 season with a 66-62 comeback win over the Yellow Jackets on Wednesday night, Feb. 14.

Waynesburg cut the W&J lead to just one point with a pair of free throws with 17 seconds left in the game. On the ensuing Presidents possession,
Nicholas Campalong (Sewickley, Pa./Ambridge) nailed a free throw to push the lead back to two points.
Sean Stinelli (Harrison City, Pa./Penn-Trafford) followed that with a steal and pass to
Brian Graytok (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) who laid in a breakaway layup with 0.4 seconds on the clock to seal the Presidents' win.

The Presidents entered the second half trailing the Yellow Jackets, 33-29, but came out hot with five straight points to regain the lead. Waynesburg responded with an 11-5 run to pull ahead once again at 44-40 before W&J scored seven unanswered points to claim another lead.

After the Yellow Jackets tied the game at 47-47,
Mitch DeZort (Tarentum, Pa./Highlands) hit a free throw to give the Presidents their final lead of the game.

W&J opened the game on a 9-4 run in the opening four minutes of the first half before Waynesburg turned up the pressure with a 27-11 run over a 12:30 span to gain a commanding 11-point lead, 31-20. The Presidents responded to the Waynesburg run with a 9-2 spurt to close the first half to reduce their deficit to four points at intermission.

Graytok finished with a team-high 16 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the floor with 10 points coming in the second half. The senior added six rebounds and four assists to his line plus a steal in 26 minutes of action. DeZort scored a season-high 14 points and connected on 5-of-10 shots in his second double-digit scoring effort of his freshman season.

Stinelli followed with 11 points, four rebounds, two assists and three steals on the night while
Brian Lindquist (Narvon, Pa./Pequea Valley) added 10 points, eight boards and a block.

Sven Zepic (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) played a key role both on offense and defense. Despite scoring three points on 1-of-2 from long range, Zepic totaled nine rebounds and seven assists to establish new career highs in both categories and also came away with two steals.

The Presidents shot 43.3 percent for the game and limited the Yellow Jackets to 33.3 percent overall, including 28.1 percent in the second half. The 12 steals for the W&J defense marked the third time this season in which the Presidents have totaled 10 or more steals, the most occurrences in a season since the 2015-16 team recorded five such games.

W&J will close its regular season slate on Saturday, Feb. 17, with a Presidents' Athletic Conference contest at Thomas More scheduled to tip-off at 3:00 p.m.
