HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson jumped out to a 9-1 halftime lead and didn't look back en route to an 11-1 nonconference win at Juniata.
The Presidents move to an even 2-2 on the season, while dropping the Eagles, who opened up the campaign with a win against Ohio River Lacrosse Conference opponent Chatham, to 1-1.
Rae LaRochelle (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) recorded four goals on the day, including the first three of the game, for her 16th career hat trick, including one in each of this year's four contests.
Alexis Miller (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and
Sofiya Bobrovnikova (Philadelphia, Pa./Northeast) each contributed a pair of goals, with it marking Miller's second multi-goal game and Bobrovnikova's first.
Graycen Vitale (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars),
Katelyn White (Linthicum, Md./North County) and
Caroline Kallos (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) each found the back of the net once, with Vitale's her first career score.
Kallos led the Presidents with five caused turnovers, four draw controls and four ground balls. Miller and LaRochelle had three and two draw controls, respectively.
Sara Maute (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J. Roberts) reached double digits in saves for the third time this year, turning away 10 shots on the afternoon.
W&J will travel to Muskingum for the final nonconference tune-up of the season for a 6 p.m. match on Wednesday, March 14.
