Men's Lacrosse takes down Earlham 26-0 in ORLC play

RICHMOND, Ind. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's lacrosse team remained undefeated in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference play and set a new single-game scoring record with a 26-0 win at Earlham.

W&J improves to 3-6 on the season with a 2-0 mark in league action. The 26 goals best the previous record of 25 goals set in each of the last two seasons against La Roche.

The Presidents had six players record multiple goals, with five netting hat tricks in the win. Pat Heidecker (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) led W&J and matched his career high with five goals, while Patrick Brunenr (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Saint Joseph), Sam Lex (Butler, Pa./Butler) and Rocco Ruscitto (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) each contributed four scores. Ray Urbash (Allison Park, Pa./Aquinas Academy) posted three goals and Ben Ward (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan added another two.

Brendan Tribeck (Enola, Pa./Trinity) chipped in a team-leading five assists, while Mark Mandak (Enola, Pa./Trinity) handed out four helpers.

Michael Aaron Pray (Gaithersburg, Md./Maret School (D.C.)) scooped up nine ground balls and Nicholas Grosch (Butler, Pa./Butler) secured six GBs and Joseph Tritschler (New Kensington, Pa./Greensburg Central Catholic) added five.

Behind 26 first-quarter shots and 45 shots in the opening half, W&J fired 68 shots to just 11 for Earlham. The Presidents also won 21-of-28 face-offs and won the ground ball battle, 41-18.

Noah Cohen (Hewlett, N.Y./George W. Hewlett) turned away all six shots he faced for his first career shutout.

W&J will have the next week off before hosting Bethany at Alexandre Stadium at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 24.
