MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team fell by a 12-7 score to nonconference foe Allegheny on Wednesday night, March 7.

After both teams exchanged two goals apiece to open the game, the Gators scored four in a row to take a 6-2 lead mid-way through the opening frame. The Presidents scored twice more in the first but Allegheny added three more goals to take a 9-4 lead into halftime.

In the second half, W&J was only able to reduce the Allegheny lead to as little as four goals before the Gators scored the final goal of the game to yield the final score.

Caroline Kallos (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) tallied her third hat trick in as many games this season, the 32nd of her career, and led W&J with eight ground balls and three caused turnovers.
Rae LaRochelle (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) also scored three goals, her third hat trick of the season and the 15th in her 21-game career, in addition to totaling eight draw controls, a team best.

Alexis Miller (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) finished the contest with three points on the strength of one goal and two assists, her second straight three-point game.

Sara Maute (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J Roberts) made 16 saves in the game and posted a save percentage of .571 in 60 minutes of action.

The Presidents will be back on the field on Saturday, March 10, when they travel to Juniata for a 1:00 p.m. nonconference clash.
