WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team posted its second shutout of the season, defeating Earlham by a score of 18-0 in Ohio River Lacrosse Conference play on Sunday afternoon, April 15.

The win improves the Presidents' overall record to 8-3 with a 5-1 mark in the ORLC with the Quakers falling to 2-11 overall and 1-7 in conference.

Eight of the Presidents' goals came in the first half with 10 coming in the second half while defense allowed just one shot on goal, including none in the first half.

Caroline Kallos (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) established a career high of 10 points on the strength of five goals and five assists in the contest. The senior midfielder added 11 ground balls, one shy of tying her career high, to go along with nine caused turnovers and seven draw controls.

Rae LaRochelle (East Sandwich, Mass./Sandwich) contributed four goals and an assist as the sophomore now has a team-leading 43 goals this season.
Alexis Miller (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) notched her sixth hat trick of the season, all coming in the last seven games, while
Graycen Vitale (Gibsonia, Pa./Mars Area) recorded her first hat trick of the season.

Kayla Boulas (North Branford, Conn./North Branford) (three points),
Katelyn White (Linthicum, Md./North County) (one goal) and
Carli Hopkin (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) (one assist) rounded out the scoring for the Presidents' offense.

Vitale scooped up five ground balls and caused two turnovers as Miller and Hopkin picked up four ground balls each and combined for three caused turnovers.

Sara Maute (Pottstown, Pa./Owen J Roberts) faced one shot on goal in the game and made the save to record her second shutout of the season. In total, the W&J defense allowed just five total shots from the Quakers.

The Presidents will return to action on Wednesday, April 18, for a 5:00 p.m. home game against ORLC foe Westminster.
