WASHINGTON, Pa -- The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team was unable to answer a late first-half goal by Kenyon on Wednesday, Sept. 12, in nonconference action, as the Presidents fell to the Ladies by a 1-0 final score at Alexandre Stadium.
The game-winning tally was scored in the 40th minute, when a Kenyon forward flicked a header just out of reach of W&J's keeper
Beth Boyles (Dundee, Ohio/Hiland).
Both teams were evenly matched in the contest, as both the Presidents and the Ladies logged 10 shots and three shots on goal.
Leading the way for W&J was freshman
Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./Wilmington), who recorded a game-high three shots and a team-leading two shots on goal.
Marcy Saldivar (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) finished second on the team with two shots.
Boyles played all 90 minutes in goal for the Red & Black and made two saves.
The Presidents will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 15, when they challenge Penn State Behrend in nonconference action at 2 p.m. in Erie, Pa.
