Scott Gerseny picked up his first career win in W&J's 1-0 overtime victory over Penn State Behrend on Saturday, September 15.Â
After over 96 minutes of scoreless action, freshman
Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./Wilmington) tallied the game-winning goal in the 97th minute to secure the victory for the Red & Black.
Lexey Finney (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) earned an assist on the play. Both Hahn and Finney's points today are their first of the season.Â
The victory is the first for the Presidents this season, as they are 1-3-1 on the year. With the loss, the Lions fall to 2-4-0 on the year.Â
The Red & Black used a balanced offensive approach in the contest, as five players finished tied for the team lead with one shot apiece. Hahn's goal went down as the team's only shot on goal.Â
Both
Beth Boyles (Dundee, Ohio/Hiland) and
Shayla Watkins (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) saw time in goal for the Presidents, with Watkins earning the win in 51:33 of action. Boyles made six saves in her 45 minutes of action, while Watkins stopped five shots.Â
W&J returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 18, with a 7 p.m. showdown against Franciscan at Alexandre Stadium.Â
