WASHINGTON, PA. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team fell in to Marietta, 4-0, to bring an end to the Presidents' season-long four-game homestand on Saturday, Sept. 22.
The high-powered Pioneers opened the game's scoring early, netting a tally 31 seconds into the bout to go ahead 1-0. Three more second-half scores sealed the win for Marietta. With the win, the Pioneers improve to 5-3-0 on the season, while W&J falls to 2-4-1.
Offensively,
Matt Prezioso (Clairton, Pa./Thomas Jefferson) and
Paul Mokrzan (Hilliard, Ohio/Watterson) led W&J with three shots apiece.
Thomas Einolf (Carlisle, Pa./Middletown) finished second on the team with two shots.
In goal, both
Nick Stasko (Gibsonia, Pa./Pine-Richland) and
Ian Donlon (Latham, N.Y./Albany Academies) saw time for the Presidents. Stasko played 71:26 and made five saves, while Donlon was in for the remainder of the tilt and recorded one stop.
W&J will play its first road game in over three weeks on Wednesday, Sept. 26, when the Red & Black battles Muskingum at 7 p.m.
