WASHINGTON, Pa -- The Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team suffered a 1-0 defeat against Frostburg State in its 2018 home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
The Bobcats took an early lead, scoring in the fifth minute when a Frostburg State forward corralled her own rebound in the box and scored to the lower-left corner.
Julie Halula (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led the Presidents with two shots, while
Brianna Floryshak (Berwick, Pa./Berwick Area),
Erin Herock (Gibsonia, Pa./Hampton) and
Michelle Cicalese (Mount Olive, N.J./Pope John XXIII) paced the team with one shot on goal apiece.
Shayla Watkins (Charleroi, Pa./Charleroi) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Red & Black and provided six saves.
The Presidents will travel to Wooster in road nonconference action on Saturday, Sept. 8. Kick-off is slated for 3 p.m.
