Field Hockey drops E8 match at first place St. John Fisher

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Washington & Jefferson field hockey team fell 4-0 to St. John Fisher in Empire 8 conference play on Saturday afternoon.
 
The Presidents fall to 8-6, 3-3 in Empire 8 play while St. John Fisher remains unbeaten in E8 play (13-4, 6-0 E8).
 
The Cardinals scored a goal in each quarter, finding the back of the cage in the 10th, 29th, 31st and 53rd minutes.
 
Fisher held a 15-0 edge in shots and a 10-0 advantage in penalty corners.
 
Rena Israel (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) and Jennifer Dietrich (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) split time at goalkeeper for the Presidents. Israel notched six saves through three quarters while Dietrich made two stops in the fourth.
 
The Presidents travel to Juniata Wednesday evening and conclude their regular and conference season Saturday at home against Hartwick at 1:00 p.m.
