WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to visiting Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match Tuesday evening at the Henry Memorial Center.
The Tomcats took the match with set scores of 25-20, 25-23 and 25-16 over the Presidents.

Claire Sauerland (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) led the Presidents with six kills and a .385 hitting percentage in the loss. Senior setter
Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) collected 18 assists and added 10 digs. Senior libero
Makenzie Coughlin (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) tallied 22 digs to pace the defensive effort.
The loss drops the Presidents to 3-6 in conference play while the Tomcats improve to 5-3 in the league.
W&J travels to Westminster College for a conference match on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Start time is scheduled for 7 pp.m.
