Women’s Soccer Scores 2-0 PAC Win Over SVC

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team earned its first Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory of the season with a 2-0 triumph over Saint Vincent on Wednesday night.

W&J (3-7-1, 1-0-1) posted its second conference shutout in as many games and outshot the Bearcats 28-3. The Red and Black tallied a goal in each half to secure the conference victory.

Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./Wilmington) put the Presidents on the board in the 26th minute, sneaking between a pair of Saint Vincent defenders following a failed clear and beating the Bearcat goalie for the contest's first score.

The Presidents outshot the Bearcats 14-0 in the first half and carried the 1-0 advantage into the second half.

Following a corner kick by McKenna Lewis (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) in the 63rd minute, junior Marcy Saldivar (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) fired a shot that was blocked. She corralled the rebound and blasted a shot into the back of the net for her team-leading third goal of the season.

Freshman goalkeeper Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./Butler) made three saves over the game's final 45 minutes to secure the shutout victory.

Lexey Finney (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillian) led the Presidents with a season-high seven shots with three on target. Lewis, Brianna McGowan (Hermitage, Pa./Hickory) and Courtney Crivelli (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) each added two shots on goal.

After collecting four points through its first two conference games, W&J heads to Chatham for its first road PAC matchup on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
