CLEVELAND, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 setback to unbeaten Muskingum University Friday night at the Case Western Reserve University Invitational.
Facing another tough non-conference foe, the Presidents fell in straight sets to the Muskies (25-17, 25-16 and 25-14).
Senior
Julia Bernesser (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) led W&J with five kills, while classmate
Makenzie Coughlin (Brunswick, Ohio/Brunswick) led all players with a match-high 17 digs. Sophomore
Alexis Tomassini (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg) and senior
Mallory O'Brien (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) tallied 12 and nine assists, respectively.
The loss dropped W&J to 1-3 in 2019, while Muskingum moved to 5-0. The Presidents face John Carroll (10 a.m.) and SUNY Geneseo (12 p.m.) to conclude play at the CWRU Invitational.
