GREENSBURG, Pa. --  The Washington & Jefferson College women's tennis team cruised to a 9-0 road victory over Pitt-Greensburg in the 2019 season opener Friday evening at the Greensburg Racquet Club. 

W&J claimed all three doubles matches by a combined 24-2 score. Sophomore Maya Krishnasamy (Ventura, Calif./Ventura) and freshman Isabella Goldman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) earned an 8-2 victory at first doubles, while the tandem of Jade Annaldo (North Kingstown, R.I./Scituate) and Vanesa Hyde (Manns Choice, Pa./Chestnut Ridge) breezed to an 8-0 decision at the second spot. Seniors Megan Berard (Yardley, Pa./Pennsbury) and Caitlin Shellhamer (Birdsboro, Pa./Daniel Boone) tallied an easy 8-0 win at third doubles. 

Kriashnasamy (First Singles), Goldman (Second Singles), Annaldo (Third Singles) and Shellhamer (Fifth Singles) registered 8-0 wins at their respective spots in singles play. Meanwhile, Berard (Fourth Singles) won 6-1, 6-1 and Hyde (Sixth Singles) won by scores of 6-1, 6-0.

W&J (1-0) travels to Division II Fairmont State for a non-conference tilt tomorrow (Saturday). Match time is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
