WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Two first half goals gave visiting Franciscan University of Steubenville a 2-0 victory over the Washington & Jefferson College men's soccer team Saturday in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at Alexandre Stadium.
Jonathan Schriner helped the Barons strike first in the 12th minute of play off an assist from Joseph Fioramonti. Sebastian Koehler gave Franciscan a 2-0 edge when his cross was deflected off a W&J defender and into the back of the net in the 32nd minute.
The Barons carried the 2-0 lead into halftime after holding a 13-5 edge in shots.
McKinley Joseph (Stamford, Conn./King School) registered a shot on goal in the 44th minute but Franciscan made the save.
Neither team was able to tally a goal over the final 45 minutes. W&J out-shot Franciscan by a 10-7 margin.
Zach Bowser (Beaver, Pa./Beaver) paced W&J offensively with a team-high three shots.

Sam Miller (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) tallied 10 saves in 90 minutes of work in net for W&J.
The loss drops W&J to 2-4 in the PAC and 3-7 overall. Franciscan moves to 6-0 in the league and 9-3 overall.
