Katie Hahn's goal gives W&J double overtime victory in PAC Tournament Quarterfinals

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Senior forward Katie Hahn (Volant,Pa./Wilmington) scored the game-winning goal six minutes into the second overtime to give Washington & Jefferson women's soccer a 1-0 win Saturday afternoon over Waynesburg University, advancing the Presidents to the PAC Semifinals on Tuesday against No. 1 Westminster. This win is the first for W&J in the PAC Tournament since 2010.

With its fifth consecutive win, W&J improves to 10-7-2 overall. Waynesburg concludes its season at 8-8-1.

The Presidents saw several opportunities to score a goal as they led Waynesburg in shots, 11-6 going into halftime. Hahn had everyone up on their feet in the 20th minute of play when she hit the post.

The Presidents held a 10-3 advantage in shots in the second half. Olivia Olsen (Boiling Springs,Pa./Boiling Springs) just narrowly missed on her attempt to end the game, as she launched a ball right over the cross bar in the 100th minute of play.

It was not until the 106th minute when Katie Brown (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) connected with Hahn on a through ball to the top of the box. Hahn was able to run it down and sent the ball to the left corner of the net to secure the win.

McKenna Lewis (Hershey,Pa./Hershey), Brown and Hahn led the Presidents offensively with six shots apiece. Peyton Behling (Annapolis,Md./Severn School) tacked on three shots for W&J.

Junior goalkeeper Gabriella Lloyd (Butler,Pa./Butler) recorded five saves through the 106 minutes of action. The strong defensive unit of Courtney Actis (Bechtelsville,Pa./Boyertown Area), Sydney Hoover (Lancaster,Pa./Manheim Township), and Courtney Crivelli (Beaver,Pa./Beaver) assisted Lloyd in covering the Yellow Jackets offense. The shutout was the sixth of the season for the Presidents, who did not surrender a goal to the Yellow Jackets in more than 215 minutes of action.

W&J travels to Westminster on Tuesday, November 2 to play in the PAC Semifinals. The game is scheduled to start at 7 p.m.
