PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- Two goals in the first half by Chatham gave the host Cougars a 2-0 win over the Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh.
The defending PAC champion Cougars improve to 6-3-1 overall and 4-0 in PAC play. The loss drops the Presidents to 5-7-1 overall and 2-2 in conference games.
Morgan Anderson and Malia Hinton scored in the 14th and 24th minutes of play to give the Cougars all they would need.
The Cougars out-shot the Presidents, 18-4, for the game. Three of the Presidents four shots were on goal, but W&JÂ could not get a shot past Chatham keeper Tyler Colburn.
Senior defender
Courtney Crivelli (Beaver, Pa./ Beaver) led the Presidents offensively as she took all of W&J corner kicks and registered two shots, with one shot on goal.
Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./ Wilmington) and
Katie Brown (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) each recorded one shot for the Presidents as well.
Junior goalkeeper
Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./ Butler) played all 90 minutes while registering 10 saves for the Presidents.
W&J will return to Alexandre Stadium on Wednesday (Oct. 13) to face off against PAC opponent Waynesburg University. The game is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.Â
