LATROBE, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at Saint Vincent on Sunday afternoon.
Despite outshooting the Bearcats by a 21-4 margin and registering 17 shots on goal, the Presidents could not find the back of the net in 110 minutes of action. W&J held a decisive 12-1 edge in corner kick opportunities as well.
Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./Wilmington Area) tallied a game-high four shots on goal.
Katie Brown (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) recorded four shots (two shots on goal). Seven different Presidents recorded at least two shots in the match.
Alie Seto (Allison, Pa./Brownsville) had a chance late in the first half, after beating her defender on a through ball opportunity. Seto gathered the ball and sent it to the left side post but the shot was stopped by the Saint Vincent goalkeeper.
Marcy Saldivar (Darlington, Pa./Blackhawk) had a scoring chance in the 54th minute but the shot sailed high of the net.
McKenna Lewis (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) smashed a rocket shot from 30 yards out but was turned away in the 73rd minute. Seto and Lewis both added another shot on goal near the end of regulation.
The two teams played through two overtime sessions before the match ended in a scoreless tie. W&J out-shot SVC by a 5-0 margin in the second overtime but couldn't deliver the game-winning score.
Abby Hipkins (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) posted a clean sheet in goal, as the freshman recorded four saves in 110 minutes.
W&J (0-1-1) will host Chatham University on Saturday, March 27. Start time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Alexandre Stadium.
