WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team was defeated by Geneva 8-1 at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center this afternoon.
Geneva moves to 2-1 on the season while W&J falls to 0-2.
Senior
Sam Bellini (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) had to go to a tiebreaker to defeat Geneva's Drake Greenstein 6-0, 5-7, 10-8 at the No. 2 single spot.
James Gunn (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) battled back from a 6-0 first set loss to win the second set 7-5 before falling in a tiebreaker 10-7 at No. 6 singles.
Each of the top two doubles pairings for W&J went down to Geneva 8-4.
The Presidents host Franciscan on Tuesday.
