WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's tennis team defeated conference foe Geneva 8-1 at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center this afternoon.
The Presidents advance to 2-1 while Geneva falls to 2-2.
W&J earned wins at second and third doubles and swept the singles competition on the day.
Libby Conlon (Renfrew, Pa./Knoch) and
Jaelyn Kennedy (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) captured a 7-6 victory at second doubles while
Bella Goldman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) and
Lisha Chadda (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Eastern) earned an 8-2 win at third doubles.
Maya Krishnasamy (Ventura, Calif./Ventura) earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. Goldman snagged a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 2 singles.
Victoria Wilson (Butler, Pa./North Catholic) won a contested bout at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 7-5.
Julia Schaffer (Ebensburg, Pa./Central Cambria) took No. 5 singles 6-1, 6-0 and Conlon was victorious at No. 6 singles 6-2, 6-0.
The Presidents host Franciscan on Wednesday.
