WAYNESBURG, Pa. --
Jayden Da (Rockville, Md./Richard Montgomery) scored in the 59th minute of the match as the W&J men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Waynesburg on Wednesday evening in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at John F. Wiley Stadium.
The victory moves W&J to 4-0 in PAC play while Waynesburg falls to 1-2-1 in league action.
The two teams played through a scoreless first half, as both teams gained scoring chances. W&J held a 7-5 advantage in shots after 45 minutes of play.
The Presidents broke through in the 59th minute when Da scored his third goal of the season. Da gathered the ball just inside the 18 yard box and blasted it into the back of the net.
Waynesburg nearly evened the score when Daniel Hott hit the post in the 62nd minute. That was the Yellow Jackets' best scoring opportunity in the second half.
W&J held advantages in shots (14-11) and shots on goal (9-4). Waynesburg had two of the three corner kick chances in the match.

Samuel Miller (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) recorded four saves in 90 minutes of work in net to earn the victory.
W&J is tentatively scheduled to return to action on Saturday, April 10. The Presidents will host Thiel College at 1 p.m. The match will serve as Senior Day for the Presidents.
