WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's tennis earned its third consecutive 9-0 win over a Presidents' Athletic Conference opponent on Saturday afternoon at Janet Swanson Tennis center against PAC opponent Thiel.
The Presidents started by sweeping the Tomcats in doubles plays to obtain an early 3-0 lead. Senior
Maya Krishnasamy (Ventura, Calif./Ventura) and freshman
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz./Hamilton) teamed up to secure a 8-2 win at No.1 Doubles. Junior
Bella Goldman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) teamed up with sophomore
Libby Conlon (Renfrew, Pa./ Knoch) to breeze to an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Sophomore
Jaelyn Kennedy (Pottstown, Pa./Pottsgrove) and freshman
Pooja Potluri (West Fargo, N.D./West Fargo) finished for the Presidents with an 8-4 win at No. 3 Doubles.
Krishnasamy (6-1, 6-0) and Pulicherla (6-0, 6-0) continued their undefeated streak at No. 1 and No. 2 singles while Goldman (6-2, 6-0) and Conlon (6-0, 6-1) easily obtained wins at No. 3 and No. 4 spots. Kennedy (6-0, 6-1) and Victoria WIlson (Butler, Pa./North Catholic) (6-0, 6-0) rounded up for the Presidents at No.5 and No.6 Singles.
W&J (3-0 PAC, 3-1 overall) will try to obtain their fourth straight PAC win this Thursday against Saint Vincent College. The match will take place at the Janet Swanson Tennis center and is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM.
