MARIETTA, Ohio -- A goal by sophomore
Makenna Mann (Herndon, Va./South Lakes) in the 21st minute helped guide the Washington & Jefferson women's soccer team to a 1-1 double overtime draw in non-conference play at Marietta College on Wednesday night.
Mann's tally, the first of her collegiate career, was set up by a pass from newcomer
Peyton Behling (Annapolis, Md./Severn School). Following a corner kick, Mann was able to corral the loose ball from Behling in front of the net and scoring past the opposing goalkeeper on the left post.
W&J held the single-goal lead for more than 45 minutes until Marietta scored in the 68th minute of play. The two teams had chances over the next 20+ minutes but the match went two overtime sessions before finishing in a draw.
It was the third straight game that Mann recorded a point, as she tallied assists in each of the two previous games.

Katie Brown (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) were at the center of the offense for W&J, as the sophomores led the team with three shots each.
Olivia Olsen (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) recorded two shots for the Presidents. In total, W&J recorded 12 shots, five of which were on goal.
Junior goalkeeper
Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./Butler) got the start in goal and recorded four saves and allowed no goals during the first 45 minutes. Sophomore goalkeeper
Abby Hipkins (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) played the final 65 minutes and stopped four shots while surrendering one goal.
W&J held a decisive edge in corner kicks (10-3) but Marietta led in shots (17-12) and shots on goal (9-7).
The Red & Black host John Carroll University on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Alexandre Stadium. The non-conference tilt will start at 1 p.m.
