NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College volleyball team suffered a 3-0 road setback to Westminster College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match on Tuesday evening.
The Titans claimed the sweep with set wins of 25-17, 25-17 and 25-14.
Lizzie Carmichael (Wyoming, Ohio/Wyoming) led W&J with five kills. Defensively,
Claire Sauerland (Hollidaysburg, Pa./Hollidaysburg) and
Sophia Sacriponte (Butler, Pa./Butler) reached double figures in digs with 12 and 10, respectively.
Ashley Kovel (Everett, Pa./Everett) tallied five total blocks to lead all players in the match.
The 13 total blocks were a season high for the Presidents.
After having the next week off from game action, W&J will host Geneva on Wednesday, Oct. 6. Start time is set for 7 p.m.
