Hahn scores as W&J shuts out Penn State Altoona, 1-0

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Senior forward Katie Hahn (Volant, Pa./ Wilmington) recorded her first goal of the season to help the W&J women's soccer claim a 1-0 win over Penn State Altoona on Wednesday night at Alexandre Stadium.

The goal by Hahn came in the 60th minute of play. Hahn she stole the ball, had a clear breakaway and beat the goalie one-on-one by launching the ball right over the goalies head into the back of the net.

W&J made the lead stand up in the second half as Penn State Altoona could not net the equalizer. Penn State Altoona had a few opportunities from close range, including one in the final seconds, but they were unable to convert to force overtime.

Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./Butler) played the second half in goal. The junior recorded three saves over the final 45 minutes of play to earn the victory in net.

Offensively, Katie Brown (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) and Hahn tied for the match-high three shots. Each player recorded three shots on goals.

W&J held a commanding 12-to-6 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks.
