Datz, Donahue secure Senior Night wins in PAC dual with Thiel


WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Washington & Jefferson College seniors Jaden Datz (Ruffs Dale, Pa./Southmoreland) and Alex Donahue (Indiana, Pa./Indiana) earned victories on Senior Night as W&J fell by a 27-21 score to visiting Thiel College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet. 

Adam Zerbee (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) secured W&J's first victory of the night. The freshman earned a hard-fought 4-2 victory by decision in overtime. Zerbee, the reigning PAC Rookie of the Week, used a takedown to top Devyn Giovengo at 149 pounds. 

The Presidents claimed the final four matches of the evening. Logan Marko (Roaring Spring, Pa./Central) was victorious in his return to the mat. Marko used an 8-4 score to win by decision over Frank Gill at 174 pounds. Datz tacked on a second consecutive W&J win by decision when he used a late takedown to obtain a 3-1 victory at 184 pounds. 

Brayden Roscosky (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) stayed unbeaten during his freshman season, as the first-year wrestler improved to 15-0 with a win by fall (4:59) over Braydon Herbster. 

Wrestling for the first time at heavyweight, Donahue needed just 1:46 to win by fall over Dylan Proper. 

W&J honored its senior class, which consists of Datz, Donahue, Vinnie Catania (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora), Daniel Choi (Evans City, Pa./Eden Christian Academy), Manny Dovshek (Scenery Hill, Pa./Bentworth) and Jake Walker (McDonald, Pa./South Fayette), prior to the start of the match. 

W&J heads to the PAC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 12. The event will be hosted by Waynesburg University.
