YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson men's and women's track team competed at the highly competitive Youngstown State University Mid-Major Invite this past Friday and Saturday. The invite contained schools from Division I,II, and III.
Men
Declan Fricko (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) jumped to a personal-best in the high jump with a leap of 1.88 meters. Fricko's mark is the fourth best all-time in W&J inoor history.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) finished in the top half in the 60 meter hurdles with his time of 9.14 and the 400 meter dash (53.83).
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) finished in 23rd in the men's 800 meters with a season-best 2:00.93. That jumps Paul to fifth on the W&J all-time list and fifth best in the PAC this season.
Aden Dressler (Evans City, Pa./Butler) and
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) ran to the third and fourth fastest times in the PAC this season in the 3K. Dressler finished with a 9:19.27 while Collier clocked in a 9:24.40. Additionally, Collier ran to a personal best in the mile, clocking in a time of 4:42.76.
The quartet of Paul, Baughman,
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East), Dressler finished in seventh in the distance medley relay, clocking in a time of 10:56.30 during Friday's session. That time currently ranks as the best in the PAC. Their time currently ranks among the Top 25 in Division III.
Women
Kiersten Walther (Washington, Pa./Trinity) moved up to third place in the PAC with her new season-best toss of 11.88 meters in the weight throw.
Savannah Sevacko (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) jumped 10.58 meters in the triple jump, moving her into second place in school history. Sevacko improves on her already PAC-leading mark.
Faith Remich (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) ran a new college personal-best by more than three seconds in the 800 meters, clocking in with a time of 2:27.65. That time will rank as the second best in the PAC this season.
Bre Trusler (Daisytown, Pa./California) finished second out of the PAC competitors in the 400 meters, running to a time of 1:04.10. She still sits atop the PAC performance list in 2021-22.
The women's distance medley relay composed of Remich,
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry), Trusler, and
Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) ran to a time of 13:14.33. This time ranked as the 12th best in the country, first in the PAC, and third on W&J All-Time Top 10 list after Friday's session.

Taylor Johnson (Lower Burrell, Pa./Burrell), Remich and Trusler raced to a new season-best time in the 4x400 relay.
Carr moved into fourth in W&J indoor history in the 3K, as she raced to a time of 11:09, which ranks fifth among PAC runners this season.
W&J will travel to Alliance, Ohio next Saturday, February 5, to compete in the Mount Union Jim Wuske Invitational.
