WAYNESBURG, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's soccer team traveled to Waynesburg Tuesday evening and played through 90 even minutes to earn its fifth tie of the season. Neither the Presidents nor Yellow Jackets were able to to find the back of the net in Tuesday's Presidents' Athletic Conference match.
The Presidents had ample offensive opportunities in the matchup, as the their front line provided the chances for them to find the back of the net, but to no avail. W&J held a sizable 24-3 advantage in shots, which included a 12-1 advantage in shots on goal. W&J dominated play and held most of the prime scoring chances on the night, as Waynesburg put just one shot on goal.
Freshman
Audrey Chapman (Elkins Park, Pa. / Phil-Mont Christian Academy) led the Presidents with six shots on the night, which included a match-high four on goal.
Makenna Mann (Herndon, Va. / South Lakes) was right behind Chapman, as she also peppered the goal with four total shots, three of which were on goal.
Gabriella Lloyd (Butler, Pa./Butler) played all 90 minutes and recorded one save on the night.
The Presidents are 3-2-5 overall and 2-1-2 in the conference.
The Presidents travel to Ohio on Saturday Oct. 8 to square off with the Barons of Franciscan University of Steubenville. Scheduled kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
