Frederick, Md. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's lacrosse team suffered a 16-3 loss to Hood Saturday afternoon in Fredrick Maryland.
Alex Strain (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper Saint Clair) notched another top performance on the Presidents side, scoring two goals in the loss.
Sam Snider (Morgantown, W.Va./University) scored a goal for the Red & Black.
Hood would be the only team to score in the first quarter, registering three goals over the initial 15 minutes. Strain scored the first goal in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 3-1. Hood would respond by scoring four more goals to go into halftime leading 7-1.
Hood would have their biggest run in the third quarter scoring five goals compared to W&J's scoreless quarter.
The Presidents best quarter came in the final quarter when Strain and Snider each scored a goal apiece.
Henry Beardwood (WIlmington, Del./Salesianum School) recorded nine saves throughout 60 minutes of action in net for W&J.
Luke Geister (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) registered a career-high 11 ground balls to pace the Presidents.
W&J will return home to face Marian on Saturday, March 5. Face-off is scheduled for 1 p.m.
