MARIETTA, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson track & field teams competed at the Marietta Invitational in Marietta Ohio Saturday morning.
Women
Maddie Simpson (Washington, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) kicked off her senior season with a first place finish in the javelin with her heave of 33.98 meters.
Faith Remich (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) finished in second place in the 800-meters with her time of 2:29.02 while
Bre Trusler (Daisytown, Pa./California) finished in fifth with a 2:42.52. Additionally, Remich took another second place finish in the 1500-meters clocking in a time of 5:05.29.
Men
W&J swept the 800 meter with
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) claiming first clocking in a 2:00.61 while
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth-Center) finished second with a 2:05.38 and
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) finished third with a 2:05.55.
Ian Baughmann (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) won the 110 meter hurdles with his time of 15.88 and the 400 meter hurdles (58.27).
Aden Dressler (Evans City, Pa./Butler) finished second in the 1500 meter (4:22.25) while
Clay Yeager (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata) and
Paul Collier (Heath, Ohio/Heath) finished in fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sam Garber (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) placed fifth in the 200 meter with his time of 53.74.
