WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson women's lacrosse team fell by a 17-11 score to visiting Kenyon College in a non-conference game Saturday afternoon at Alexandre Stadium.
Kenyon built a 7-4 lead after the first and a 10-5 advantage at halftime. The visiting Ladies outscored the Presidents by a 7-6 score over the final 30 minutes.
Becca Ghion (Sutersville, Pa./Yough) paced W&J with three goals in the loss.
Sarah Labovitz (Great Falls, Va./The Bullis School) finished with four points (3g, 1a) and four ground balls.
Sofia Jenkins (Hughesville, Md./The Calverton School) and
Aisa Uhler (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) scored two goals apiece.
Sam Casile (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) finished with a team-high three ground balls.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) made 10 saves in 60 minutes in net.
W&J opens conference play Tuesday, March 22 when they host Bethany College at 6 p.m.
