Heck, Uhler score four each as W&J eases past Chatham, 17-6

WASHINGTON, Pa. -- Eight different players scored as the Washington & Jefferson College women's lacrosse team rolled past Chatham University Monday evening by a 17-6 score at in a Presidents' Athletic Conference game at Alexandre Stadium.

W&J improves to 6-4 overall and 4-0 in PAC play. The win was the fifth straight for the Presidents. Chatham dropped its second straight, falling to 6-4 overall and 3-2 in the conference. 

The Presidents led 6-0 after just the first quarter. W&J was able to go into halftime with a secure lead at 10-3. The Presidents outscored the Cougars by a 7-3 margin over the final 30 minutes. 

Emily Heck (Reading, Pa./Berks Catholic) and Aisa Uhler (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) scored four goals apiece in the victory. The four goals established a new career-high for Heck, who also added two assists to finish with six points. 



Clara Sherwood (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) finished with a hat trick while Becca Ghion (Sutersville, Pa./Yough) recorded two goals for the Presidents.  Sarah Labovitz (Great Falls, Va./The Bullis School), Amanda Effland (Frederick, Md./Frederick), Lina Crowley (Potomac, Md./The Bullis School), and Katelyn Walzer (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) each tallied a goal for W&J. 

Defensively, Sam Casile (New Kensington, Pa./Plum) led the pack with five ground balls and three caused turnovers. Kaitlyn Brown (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) recorded 11 saves throughout 60 minutes of action in the net. 

W&J will travel to New Wilmington, Pa. on Wednesday, April 20 to face Westminster College. The conference game is slated to start at 5 p.m.
