BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College track & field teams competed this Wednesday and Thursday at the All-Atlantic Region Championships at Moravian University. W&J sent 10 competitors to the All-Region Meet, which consisted of the top runners from Division III institutions.
Cassie Carr (Girard, Pa./Girard) set the tone for the Presidents as she opened day one Wednesday by setting a new personal record in the 5K. Her time of 18:24 landed her in sixth place. Carr then ran to an 11th place finish in the 1500 on Thursday with a time of 5:03.22.
The quartet of
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East),
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth-Center),
Clay Yeager (Mifflintown, Pa./Juniata), and
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) ran to a 10th finish in 4x800 relay with a school record time of 8:04.64.
Ian Baughman (Oxford, Pa./Oxford Area) also competed during day one recording a 15.68 in the 110-meter hurdles. Baughman then competed in the 400 hurdles on day two, as he posted a personal-best time of 56.12.
Faith Remich (New Kensington, Pa./Burrell) and Paul competed in their respective 800 meter runs. Remich posted a time of 2:18.87 on the women's side. The time narrowly missed a career best for Remich in her final collegiate race. Paul clocked in at 1:56.51 for a collegiate best time.
Jadyn Hartner (Washington, Pa./Fort Cherry) raced to a time of 1:09.31 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Declan Fricko (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) recorded a leap 1.87 meters in the high jump.
Nate Sciarro (Beaver Falls, Pa./Riverside) leaped to a Top 10 place finish in the long jump with a mark of 6.98 meters.
