SHERMAN, Texas -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's water polo team wrapped up competition Sunday at the 'Roo Invite which was hosted by Austin College in Texas. The Presidents fell to Augustana by a 13-4 score and dropped a 12-8 decision to the hosts in the final match for the Presidents.

The Vikings tallied the match's first four goals before
Aidan Miller (Grove City, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) got the Presidents on the board late in the opening quarter. Augustana scored three of the four second quarter goals to build a 7-2 lead over W&J at halftime.
Mitchell Rubio (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) scored in the second quarter for W&J's lone tally. The Presidents managed two goals in the second half, scoring on a third quarter goal by
AJ Alderman (Camp Hill, Pa. / Cumberland Valley) and a fourth quarter score from
Ryan Bannon (Broomfield, Colo. / Broomfield).
Caine Dusza (Souderton, Pa./Souderton) made eight saves in the loss.
Austin 12, W&J 8
The hosts gained an early lead as they scored three of the first four goals. The teams exchanged second quarter scores but Austin entered halftime with a 7-5 advantage. Austin outscored W&J by a 5-3 margin over the final two quarters to take the victory.
Seven different Presidents scored in the final game of the weekend.
Chris Edwards (Bexley, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) led the Presidents with a pair of goals. Dusza tallied eight saves against the Roos.
W&J is 5-4 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Presidents travel to Penn State Behrend on Oct. 1-2. W&J faces Penn State Behrend and Salem on Oct. 1 before Mercyhurst on Oct. 2.
