GENESEO, NY. - Freshman Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) raced to a 60th place finish to pace the efforts of the Washington & Jefferson College men's cross country team Saturday at the SUNY Geneseo Mike Woods Invitational in Geneseo, New York.
Flitcraft recorded a time of 25:11.9 to finish 60th in the 371-runner field. The time puts Flitcraft as the third fastest man in W&J's Top 10 in the 8K in program history.
Next in the fleet was Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) placed 105th with a time of 25:45.1, earning him the title of fifth fastest man in W&J's Top 10 in the 8K in program history.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) placed 110th recording a time of 25:49.3 moving him up to the sixth fastest man in W&J's Top 10 in the 8K in program history.
Daniel Deal (Butler, Pa./Knoch) would be the next for the Presidents to reach the finish with a time of 26:26.0 to secure 168th place of the 371 competitors. This finish would also put Deal into the record books as the 11th fastest man in W&J's Top 10 in the 8K in program history.
Jacob Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth Center) clocked in next at 27:00.2 in 202nd place. Shaun Walker (Washington, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) would finish in the same minute at 27:46 to claim not only 245th place but also his new personal record.
Rounding out the seven for the Red & Black was Lorenzo Zeni (Monongahela, Pa. / Ringgold) who locked in a time of 28:08.5 to also achieve his own new personal best time.
After having next weekend off from competition, W&J returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 28 in Greenville, Pa. at the PAC Championships.
