STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's volleyball saw its five-match winning streak get snapped in a five-set road loss Saturday afternoon at Franciscan University of Steubenville.
The loss drops the Presidents to 6-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference and 13-11 overall. The Barons keep their slim PAC Tournament hopes alive as they move to 3-5 in the league and 12-11 overall. 
W&J rolled to a 25-15 victory in the opening set before watching Franciscan respond in a big way with a 25-14 set two victory to even the match. Franciscan pulled away for a 25-17 win in the third set. However, the Presidents forced a fifth set by holding off for a 25-22 victory in the fourth set. In the decisive fifth set, Franciscan gained an early lead and kept W&J at bay as they earned the match win with a 15-9 victory. 
Faith Fetsko (South Park, Pa./South Park) paced the Presidents' offensive efforts with a match-high 16 kills. Fetsko added 10 digs and three service aces in the loss.
Adrianna Sacramento (Pittsburgh, Pa./Woodland Hills) finished with 20 assists and 12 digs. 
Brielle Moorhouse (East Liberty, Ohio / Benjamin Logan) tallied 18 assists. 
Piper McFarland (West Mifflin, Pa./Cornerstone Preparatory Academy) led all defensive players with 23 digs. 
W&J will look to bounce back when they travel to Allegheny College for a league tilt on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
