Justin Parker Wyatt (Coatesville, Pa. / Unionville) scored twice as the Washington & Jefferson men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with visiting Franciscan University Saturday afternoon in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Alexandre Stadium.
Both teams would trade back and forth for goals during the hard-fought 90 minutes. The Barons opened the scoring with a goal in the 20th minute. Just minutes later, W&J would rally back when
Jimmy Gogol (Westminster, Md. / Westminster) would set up Wyatt for the tying goal in the 25
th minute of play.
The Barons regained the lead with a score in the 35th minute of play to conclude the scoring for the first half.
Wyatt would score the last goal of the game. His unassisted score in the 55th minute secured the tie for the Presidents, as neither team could net the potential game winner.
Franciscan out-shot W&J by a margin of 23-11 (13-4 on goal) and had a 4-3 edge over the Presidents on corner kicks.
Charles Boldosser (Westminster, Md. / South Carroll) and
Graeme Ewart (Arlington, Va. / Yorktown) would split the game in goal for the Presidents, recording 45 minutes a piece, respectively. Boldosser would collect five saves on the night and Ewart would tally six.
The Presidents will host Penn State Harrisburg on Tuesday, Oct. 10 for a non-conference match starting at 7 p.m.
