GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 decision to Grove City in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon in Mercer County.
The Presidents picked up their lone win of the afternoon at the first doubles spot.
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz. / Hamilton) and
Riley Moore (Logan, W.Va. / Logan) picked up an 8-5 win over the top tandem from the Wolverines.
Lisha Chadda (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) forced a third set at the fifth singles positioning. Chadda dropped the opening set 6-2 before responding with a 6-3 win in set two. Ultimately, Grove City's Alyssa Good prevailed by a 6-1 margin in the third set.
The Presidents are now 4-3 in conference play and 5-4 overall.
W&J hosts Allegheny College on Saturday, Oct. 14. Start time is scheduled for 11 a.m.
