SEATTLE, Wash. – Four Washington & Jefferson College men's water polo players earned recognition on the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-East Division Teams, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon.
W&J placed a pair on First Team as senior
Chris Edwards (Bexley, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) and
Aidan Miller (Grove City, Ohio / St. Charles Prep) received the honor.
Mitchell Rubio (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) was listed on the Second Team while senior
Zishuo Ma (Los Alamitos, Calif. / Los Alamitos) secured a spot as an Honorable Mention selection.
Edwards capped a stellar career with his second-straight MPSF honor. Edwards earns First Team honors after finding a spot on the Second Team a season ago. Edwards leads the Presidents with 41 goals this fall. Edwards has six hat tricks this season including a six-goal performance versus Mercyhurst on Sept. 9.
Miller was a strong catalyst backing Edwards. The sophomore has found the back of the net 30 times in 2023. Miller has four hat tricks including a season-high five-goal effort versus Salem on Sept. 9.
Rubio is a repeat on the MPSF Second Team. The senior finished with 29 goals including his season-best five-goal game against Connecticut College on Nov. 4.
Ma rounds out W&J's representation on the All-MPSF Teams. He has been a stalwart in goal throughout the season. He posted a season-high 21 saves in a win over Connecticut College on Nov. 4.
W&J opens the MPSF Championships on Friday, Nov. 17 vs. UCLA.
