WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson College men's tennis team fell by a 6-3 score to visiting Geneva College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference match at the Janet Swanson Tennis Center on Tuesday afternoon.
W&J dropped two of the three doubles matches to the GT's.
Jackson Akers and
Connor Simms earned a hard-fought 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles.
Four of the six singles matches went to tiebreakers.
Alex Duing secured a win at No. 2 singles. After dropping the opening set by a 6-2 score, Duing responded with a win of 6-4 in the second. Duing then claimed the victory with a 10-6 score in the third set tiebreaker.
Jaren Thimons registered the other win for the Presidents. Thimons won 6-4 in the first before dropping the second set 7-5. Thimons then earned the match win with a 10-5 score in the tiebreaker.
W&J closes its regular season at Westminster College on Thursday, April 20.
