W&J falls to Penn State Altoona in 2-1 nonconference loss

WASHINGTON Pa. - The Washington and Jefferson men's soccer team dropped a match to Penn State Altoona Saturday afternoon 2-1 at Alexandre Stadium.

The Lions would score the lone goal in the first half of play. An unassisted score by Luke Hall in the 31st minute gave the Lions the 1-0 lead. Luke Hall would collect the second goal for the Lions almost immediately at the start of the second half in the 48th minute.

W&J would have three corner kicks and put up nine shots before Ethan Bowser (Elizabeth, Pa. / Elizabeth Forward) put one past the Lions goalie in the 76th minute to collect the Presidents first and what would be only goal of the afternoon. Following the goal, W&J would have one corner kick opportunity and put up two more shots but could not find the equalizer.

The Presidents out-shot PSA by a deficit of 21-10 (12-5 Shots on Goal). W&J had a 7-4 advantage in corner kicks. Justin Parker Wyatt (Coatesville, Pa. / Unionville) paced the Presidents with four of their 21 shots.
