WASHINGTON Pa. - The Washington and Jefferson women's tennis team fell to Westminster Saturday afternoon in a 9-0 loss.
Nidhi Pulicherla (Chandler, Ariz. / Hamilton) and Riley Moore (Logan, W.Va. / Logan) battled back and forced Westminster into a tiebreaker in their #1 doubles match before the Titans took back control and won the match 8-3.
Westminster would then win the next two matches to close out doubles play.
In singles play, the Titans would retire the first 5 Presidents consecutively before Lisha Chadda (Grand Rapids, Mich. / Forest Hills Eastern) forced Grace Askey of Westminster into a three-set match. After losing the first set 6-4, Chadda would answer back with a 6-3 winning set of her own. Askey would then finish off the match with an 11-9 victory in the tie-breaking set.
The Presidents travel next to Geneva for a Presidents Athletic Conference night match on Tuesday, Sept. 19. The match is scheduled to begin at 7pm.
