GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Washington & Jefferson College men's cross country team four runners among the top 15 and placed second as a team at the Thiel College Tomcat Rumble Friday evening.
Despite competing for a second time in less than a week and not racing at a 100 percent, the Presidents put together a strong effort.
Dominic Flitcraft (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) paced the Presidents for a fourth time in as many tries this fall. The freshman finished in third place with a time of 27:57.23 in the 8K event.
Julian Paul (Pittsburgh, Pa./Montour) timed in at 28:49.39 to finish inside the top 10 in eighth place.
Brock Pennington (North East, Pa./North East) and
Jake Sinclair (Beallsville, Pa./Beth Center) finished in 14th and 15th place, respectively. Pennington recorded a time of 29:14.98 and Sinclair was 29:15.0.
Daniel Deal (Butler, Pa./Knoch) and
Shaun Walker (Washington, Pa./Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter) rounded out the six for the Presidents. Deal finished in 22nd place at 29:59.32. Walker logged a time of 31:30.61.
A select number of Presidents will head to Pittsburgh on Saturday, Oct. 7 for the CMU Invitational.
