WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Washington & Jefferson men's tennis team opened the fall portion of its 2023-24 season Tuesday night when they welcomed Saint Vincent College to the Janet Swanson Tennis Center for a non-conference match.
Jackson Akers (Logan, W.Va./Logan) paced the Presidents' efforts by registering a pair of wins versus the Bearcats. He won 6-3, 6-3 at third singles. Akers also teamed with
Nick Kubik (Canonsburg, Pa./Canon-McMillan) to win by an 8-5 margin at first doubles.
Jesús Garcia (Seville, Spain Universidad Pablo De Olavide) picked up a 6-4 and 6-0 win at first singles for the Presidents.
W&J returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 9 when they host Baldwin Wallace and Penn State Behrend at the Swanson Tennis Center.
