STEUBENVILLE, OHIO - Franciscan scored a goal in each half as they downed the W&J women's soccer team by a 2-0 score Wednesday evening.
The loss drops the Presidents to 1-1 in conference play and 4-4-1 overall so far.
The Barons scored first just before the half in the 41st minute and the score remained 1-0 through halftime until Franciscan tacked on an insurance goal in the 82nd minute of play.
Molly Schoch (Burgettstown, Pa./Burgettstown) started and made seven saves in 90 minutes of work in goal.
Franciscan led the Presidents in shots (22-15) while W&J took a slight edge on corner kicks (5-4).
Senior Skylar Bibbee (Fairfax, Va./Chantilly) paced the team with six shots and four on goal. Sydney Hoover (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) followed with four total shots.
W&J will be back in action as they travel next to Waynesburg on Saturday (Oct. 5) for a game 1 p.m. conference bout.
